Lynne Kosky Memorial VCAL Scholarships

Main Points

Applications for the 2017 Lynne Kosky Memorial VCAL Scholarships are now open.

The scholarships were established in 2015 to recognise the outstanding contribution that Lynne Kosky made to education and training in Victoria.  

The Department of Education and Training (DET) awards two scholarship each year to outstanding students planning to study VCAL in Year 11 and 12 as a pathway to further study, employment or training, and who face financial barriers to remaining in education.

Each VCAL Scholarship is valued at up to $25,000, which is provided in $2,500 grants each semester over five years of study, training or an apprenticeship.

Students must be aged 17 years or under (as of 1 January 2018) to be eligible.

Applications close Tuesday 5 September 2017.

Action Required

Principals/Directors should:

  • ensure VCAL coordinators and VCAL teachers are advised that the Lynne Kosky Memorial VCAL Scholarships are now open
  • promote the Lynne Kosky Memorial VCAL Scholarships to students
  • verify applications and complete the ‘Supporting Comments’ section to ensure they are valid.
