How to Apply for the VCE Leadership Awards
Before completing the forms please read the following instructions
To apply for the VCE Leadership Awards, an electronic application should be completed by:
- Nominated student (Details Form, Student Application Form)
- School staff member (School Support Form, Principal’s signature on the Details Form)
- Community member (Community Endorsement Form)
Each section should be completed with typed responses.
Each application will need to be printed, signed and sent to the VCAA.
Mail the completed application form to:

Students are selected between the months of May and October. To be eligible for each month, applications will need to be received by the VCAA by the last week of that month.
Applications for the final round close on Friday 27 September 2013. Please apply as early in the year as possible, to increase your student’s chances of being selected.
Advice for teachers
The selection panel will consider students for the month in which they are nominated. However, in months where competition is robust, the selection panel may decide to allow particularly strong applicants to remain eligible for subsequent months. It is therefore a good idea to apply as early in the year as possible, to increase your student’s chances of being selected.
Please nominate only one student from your school, as the selection panel will only consider one application per school per year.
Finalists will be announced in the Herald Sun newspaper and will be profiled in the VCAA Bulletin. They will be contacted by the VCAA for a brief interview about their achievements. Finalists will receive a three month subscription to the Herald Sun newspaper and the will receive their awards at a ceremony following the end of year examination period.
All finalists will receive a computer prize donated by Lenovo Australia.
One overall achiever will be announced at the ceremony and receive a special prize.
