Accreditation period

The accreditation period for Physical Education Units 3 and 4 of the current study will expire on 31 December 2017.

Units 1 and 2 of VCE Physical Education for 2017 and associated support material are available from the Physical Education​ Units 1 and 2​ page.

Staged Implementation

Implementation of the revised study is being staged:

Units 1 and 2: 2017, Units 3 and 4: 2018

In 2017, students enrolling in Units 1-2 will undertake the revised study (2017-2021). Students undertaking Units 3-4 will continue with the current study (2011-2017). ​​​​

  • Unit 3 Clarification
    Schools were advised in the April 2014 edition of VCAA Bulletin VCE, VCAL and VET of the requirement to incorporate Australia’s Physical Activity and Sedentary Behaviour Guidelines into the teaching of Unit 3 VCE Physical Education from 2015. For Unit 3, Area of study 1: Monitoring and promotion of physical activity, the emphasis for teaching should be on Australia’s Physical Activity and Sedentary Behaviour Guidelines for young people (13–17 years) and adults (18–64 years).
