Examination Advice: October/November written examinations
Teachers should make the following information available to students. It is highly recommended that students familiarise themselves with all aspects of this material.
Front covers of examination books (PDF - 751KB)
Pages 3–148 contain the front covers of the October/ November examination books, including Structure of book and Instructions to students. It is recommended that teachers supply students with a copy of the front cover for each of their examinations and a copy of each of the relevant answer sheets for multiple-choice questions. Teachers should ensure that students are aware of the correct method of completing all multiple-choice answer sheets, script books and answer books and practise these procedures prior to the examination. Students should note that the number of pages, questions and marks shown for the examination may differ slightly from the number indicated in the actual examination books given to students on the day of the examination.
English and English (ESL) script book covers (PDF - 87KB)
Pages 149–156 contain the front covers and instructions of the script books for the English and English (ESL) Examinations.
Data and formula sheets (PDF - 155KB)
Pages 157–180 contain the data or formula sheets included in the Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Physics (Pilot), Systems and Technology and VET Electronics Examinations.
Answer sheets for multiple-choice questions (PDF - 979KB)
Pages 181–195 contain sample answer sheets for multiple-choice questions in the Biology, Chemistry Economics, Environmental Science, Information Processing and Management, Mathematics, Psychology, VET Equine Industry, VET Furnishing, VET Hospitality (Operations) and VET Information Technology Examinations. Students will be required to check that their name and student number as printed on the answer sheet for multiple-choice questions are correct. Students must indicate their response to a question by shading the appropriate box.
Mathematics, Physics: Student notes
Students should be advised that the notes which they may take into Mathematics Examinations 1 and 2 (all Mathematics) and both Physics and Physics (Pilot) Examination 2 may be from any source. In Mathematics, students are permitted to bring to the examination up to four pages (two A4 sheets) of pre-written notes. In Physics, students are permitted to bring to the examination an A4 sheet of notes. The A4 sheet/s may be annotated on both sides.
English and English (ESL)
In the English examination, Section 1 – Text response will be divided into two parts. Each part will list the 30 texts with one question for each text. Students cannot write on the same text for both Parts 1 and 2. Students cannot write on non-print texts for both Parts 1 and 2.
