2008 Examination Timetable and ‘3 in 1’ Examinations Policy Update

1.  2008 End of Year Examination Timetable

The 2008 End of Year Examination Timetable is now available on the VCAA website at the following web address:

The timetable will be published as a Lift out in the February 2008 version of the VCAA Bulletin. 

2.  ‘3 in 1’ Examinations in a Day Policy Update

At its recent December meeting, the VCAA Board approved a change to the policy on students timetabled with three examinations in one day. Previously such students were permitted to choose to sit one of the examinations on the following morning and a number chose to do so. This choice has now been removed in order to enhance examination paper security and maintain the integrity of the VCE examination process.

All students will now be required to sit all three examinations in one day. The Assessment Operations staff at VCAA will be happy to work with schools on flexible starting times for such students in order to provide as much supervised rest time as possible between each examination. Notwithstanding this revision to the policy, existing approaches for Special Examination Arrangements will continue to apply.

ACTION: Schools are asked to ensure all students who might enrol in Units 3 and 4 VCE studies in 2008 are aware of the examination timetables on the VCAA website and the operation of this revised policy for ‘3 in 1’ day examinations.
