Invitation to Plain English Speaking Award State Final
The State Final of the 2007 VCAA Plain English Speaking Award will take place on Friday 3 August. Teachers are invited to bring school groups to hear some of the best speakers who have entered the Award this year.
There will be six speakers, each with a prepared six-minute speech. They will then be given an impromptu topic on which to speak for three minutes. This will be a morning event which allows you to get back to school during the afternoon.
Details are as follows:
Date: Friday 3 August 2007
Time: 9.30 am for a 10.00 am start and an anticipated finish of 1.00 pm
Venue: Treasury Theatre, 1 MacArthur Place, East Melbourne (opposite Parliament Station)
Refreshments will be served. There is no entry fee for this event but we would appreciate your RSVP with approximate numbers by Monday 30 July.
