Curriculum Planning Guide: VCAL Industry Specific Skills Strand and Work Related Skills Strand
The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) has now completed a review of the VCAL Work Related Skills (WRS) units for implementation in January 2008.
The VCAA Board has endorsed the revised WRS units and the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority has accredited the units until 31 December 2012 .
Two copies of the Curriculum Planning Guide: Industry Specific Skills Strand and Work Related Skills Strand have been posted to all VCAL providers. The Curriculum Planning Guide is also available on the VCAA website www.vcaa.vic.edu.au
Changes to the existing WRS units include:
- The incorporation of the Employability Skills Framework into the WRS learning outcomes
- Information on the appropriate Occupational Health and Safety training required before commencing a structured work placement.
