Margaret Schofield Memorial Scholarship Applications
Teachers are reminded that the deadline for applications for the Margaret Schofield Memorial Scholarship is 31 October 2008.
The VCAA coordinates the scholarship on behalf of the trustees. The annual scholarship of $4,000 is awarded to a government school student of VCE Music: Solo performance and contributes towards the cost of tertiary education in music performance.
The selection panel will consider applicants who can demonstrate a commitment to music in recent years and to a future career in music performance. The students’ study score for VCE Music: Solo performance will be taken into consideration.
Margaret Schofield passed away in 2004 after a long career as pianist, teacher and accompanist. In 1988 she was awarded the Order of Australia Medal for her services to music and the community. She left several generous music scholarships, including this one for promising young VCE students from government schools.
