NAPLAN Data Service professional development workshops

The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) has been pleased to note the interest shown by schools in its Teacher Professional Learning Program for the NAPLAN Data Service. Despite significantly increasing the number of places offered for teachers over those provided for 2007 AIM Data Service workshops, demand has been such that the VCAA is taking a number of steps to ensure that all schools are able to access the workshops.

1. The VCAA will produce a DVD of the workshops which will be sent to all schools.
2. The VCAA is investigating the possibility of producing a multi media presentation of the workshops which will be available on the VCAA website.
3. Extra workshops will be offered in early Term 1, 2009 for schools who have been unable to register at the 2008 workshops. These workshops will be offered at various venues across the state and will be free-of-charge to participants.
4. The VCAA will notify schools as to details of these extra workshops as soon as they become available.
