Release Of On Demand Progress Tests

The VCAA is pleased to announce the release of a series of Progress Tests that are designed to assist teachers to monitor their students’ development against the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS).

Six Reading and six Number Progress Tests are now available for schools registered to download from the VCAA’s On Demand Central Server www.aimonline.vic.edu.au using their assigned Logon Id and Password.

The Tests are downloaded to the School Server on which the On Demand application has been installed. For Government schools this will be the CASES server. The tests are set up and administered to students via the School Server.

Progress Tests can be previewed as a PDF file on the VCAA Central Server before downloading. The PDF files can also be printed or saved. They include teacher information about using Progress Tests and interpreting On Demand reports.

Student results for these tests are mapped to VELS Progression Points. However, as with all single assessments, the Progress Tests should not be used in isolation from other measures. They are intended to be used to complement and confirm other classroom assessments and to reinforce teacher judgement.
