Submission Of School Indicative Examination Grades For October 2008 Arts Performance Examinations

The School Indicative Examination Grades for GA2 the October Arts Performance examinations are required by Friday 19 September, 2008.  It is most important that correct Indicative Examination Grades are entered on VASS, as these grades cannot be entered or changed by schools after this date.

Arts Performance Examination Indicative Grades are required for the following studies:

• Dance
• Drama
• Music Performance: Group
• Music Performance: Solo
• Theatre Studies
• VCE VET Certificate II in Dance (21078VIC)
• VCE VET Certificate III in Music (CUS30101).

Please note that the OVERALL Indicative Grade for GA3 the LOTE Examinations (written and oral) is not required until 30 October 2008.  Only ONE indicative grade is required for the LOTEs as there is only one examination assessment result.

Indicative Examination Grades are entered using the menu: RESULTS ADMIN → Indicative Examination Grades → Indicative Examination Grades and must be a letter grade ranging from A+ to E, UG or NA.

For further advice on School Indicative Examination Grades, please refer to section 9.9.1, page 107 to 108 of the 2008 VCE and VCAL Administrative Handbook.

This is the ONLY opportunity for School Indicative Examination Grades for the Arts Performance examinations to be submitted.

The VASS menu: RESULTS ADMIN → Indicative Examination Grades → Indicative Grades Report should be used as the Input sheet prior to the entry of the Indicative Examination Grades, a summary sheet after entry of the Indicative Examination Grades and a Missing Results Report.  The report can be produced in either Unit Code or Teacher Name order.  See Figure 1.

To ensure that all the required Indicative Examination Grades have been entered, the Indicative Grades Report should be run with the Display Missing Results Only? parameter changed to ‘YES’.

As part of the school’s audit process the Indicative Grades Report must be reprinted after the entry of the Indicative Examination Grades and given to the teachers to check.  This must be done before Friday 19 September, 2008.
