VCE LOTE and Music CD Checks Prior to Examinations

VCE examination materials were delivered to schools in the week commencing 19 October. As well as checking examination papers, schools are reminded of the importance of checking all CDs in preparation for examinations.

The following instructions were included in the original documentation sent with the examination material.

COMPACT DISCS (CDs)

A jiffy bag identified by a label with the alphabetical letter T contains a CD.

You must have the exact number of CDs per study as determined on the report.

You or your delegate, in the presence of the Chief Supervisor, must carry out the following check for all CDs:

  • Test each CD by listening to the instructions/introductions only.
There is no need to listen to the full CD

If you believe that you have a CD which is blank, immediately contact Maria Fragale on Ph 9225 2255.

After satisfying yourself that the CD is not blank, reseal the CD in its jiffy bag, signing across the seal and store securely until the examination. This is the only permitted use of the CD prior to the scheduled commencement of the examination.

Music Styles, Music Performance: Group & Solo, VET: Music Industry (Technical Production) and November LOTE examinations will have 1 compact disc, per jiffy bag.

It is imperative that schools check all CDs so as to avoid any technical problems on the day of the examination.

ACTION REQUIRED

  1. Test each CD by listening to all of the instructions/introductions as per above.
  2. If you believe you have a faulty CD, please recheck it in another machine to confirm that the CD is faulty.
  3. Contact Maria Fragale by Fax (03) 9225-2258 or by email at: fragale.maria.m@edumail.vic.gov.au advise of a faulty CD. Please include your contact details.
