Another round of training in Metropolitan and Regional Centres is planned to be held in late January into February 2010. Further information will be sent to schools in late December 2009.
This training is designed specifically for New VASS Administrators. This includes new schools offering a VCE, VET or VCAL program for the first time in 2010.

The role of the VASS Administrator is typically one of data entry and works very closely with the VCE, VET and VCAL Coordinators in the school who are responsible for providing accurate and timely student enrolment and results data to the VASS Administrator in order to meet VCAA deadlines. The VASS Administrator is able to produce reports such as Student Full Details Reports, Class Lists for distribution to Coordinators.
The VASS Administrator should have well developed computing skills and be familiar with Microsoft Internet Explorer, Excel and Word and web based applications. In addition they should have a good understanding of the VCE, VET and VCAL programs which comes with on the job training in the workplace.
It is strongly recommend that new VASS Administrators read the VCE, VET and VCAL Quick Guides for VASS Administrators which are available on the VCAA website http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/schooladmin/vass/usingvass.html#H3N10118 before coming to the training programs.
Current VASS Administrators are encouraged to mentor new administrators as part of their induction into this very important role. A form for requesting access to VASS is included with this memorandum.
The VCAA will use the Trumba Event Registration System for intended participants to register on-line. As places are limited, participants are advised register as soon as possible to the preferred session. Enclosed is an instruction sheet on how to register for ONE of the VASS training session.
