Memorandum to Schools 65/2009

18 June 2009

Special Half Day VASS New Users Training - July 2009

Due to an extraordinary level of demand for VASS Training from newly appointed VASS Administrators a special training session has been organised for Wednesday 15 July 2009.

There will be a morning session from 9.00am to 12.00pm and an afternoon session from 1.00pm to 4.00pm and will cover all aspects of VASS data entry for the remainder of the 2009 school year (primarily enrolments for VCE, VET and VCAL and the entry of results).

These sessions will be conducted at the VCAA Assessment Centre, 189 Urquhart Street, Coburg (Melways map reference 18 A12)

Participants attending a session will still be able to attend one of the full days VASS New User’s Professional Development sessions which will be held in November/December 2009 and January/February 2010. Information regarding these sessions will be sent out in October 2009 and December 2009 respectively.

The session will be computer based ‘hands on’ training with a short break for morning and afternoon tea.  It is not necessary to bring a laptop computer.  Registration will commence at 8.30am for the morning session and 12.30pm for the afternoon session

  1. The PD session will only be conducted if there are sufficient numbers.
  2. Allocation to the session is on a first come first served basis.
  3. As places are very limited, a maximum of two participants may be allocated to each school.
  4. There will be no provision for reimbursement of travel and accommodation expenses or for the funding of staff replacement.

Schools are advised to return the attached Expression of Interest Form to Ms Val Dobson, Administrative Support Unit NO LATER THAN FRIDAY 26 JUNE by Fax 9651 4551 or email vass.support@edumail.vic.gov.au
