COMPLETING THE ATTACHED FORM

2009 CCAFL Written Examinations Form (Beige)

It would be appreciated if you could offer a room/s for the conduct of the CCAFL examination. These rooms are required to accommodate both students for whom your school serves as the home school, as well as students from other schools. This will assist the VCAA in localising centres and where possible minimising travel requirements for students.

Please be aware that:

  1. If you don’t nominate your school as a centre or are unable to provide a room/s at your school, students for whom you are the *‘home’ school will be required to complete their examination elsewhere. This will require students to travel to other schools prior to the 2:00pm commencement time and then travel home after the 4:15pm or 5:00pm finish.
  2. If the VCAA is unable to accommodate your students at a localised centre elsewhere, you will be required to conduct the CCAFL written examination/s for your home school student/s as per the signed 2009 VCE Written Examination Centre Agreement form.
  3. Although you may be prepared to provide a room/s and accommodate students from other schools, students in languages with low enrolment numbers will be accommodated at the most central venue.

If you nominate your school as a centre for the CCAFL Written Examinations please indicate which option you prefer:

OPTION A

or

You have elected to conduct the CCAFL written examinations for only your home school students. If you choose this option, the VCAA will NOT pay for supervision if the number of students attending for each language is less than 10.(This does not apply if you are a remote country school)

OPTION B

or

You are able to accommodate students from other schools together with your home school students. If you choose this option and students from other schools are accommodated at your school, the VCAA WILL pay for the supervision even if the total number of students is less than 10.

OPTION A and B

You are able to provide a room/s and accommodate students from other schools. However, if the VCAA does not allocate students from other schools to your school then you are advising the VCAA that you are still electing to conduct the CCAFL written examinations for only your home school students. Supervision payment would be as per the appropriate above rulings.

Once the VCAA has allocated CCAFL students to an examination centre, the host schools will be notified in writing of the CCAFL examination/s they will be conducting and the number of students attending. Notification will be forwarded in the week commencing Monday 7 September 2009.

Timetables

In the week beginning Monday 7 September, the 2009 Student Assessment Timetables will be available to schools for printing through VASS (Student Program→VCE Reports→Student Assessment Timetables). It is the responsibility of the principal to produce a timetable for each home school student. These timetables will inform students of the centre for their CCAFL written examination.

You are also able to obtain two other written examinations summary reports from VASS:

  1. A report listing external examination centres your home school students are attending.
[Student Program→VCE Reports→Examination Venues Not At Home]
  2. Report listing students from other schools for whom you are the host school for their CCAFL examinations.
[Student Program→VCE Reports→Host Examination Centre Summary (Written)]

Equipment

It is imperative that each CCAFL examination be held in a separate room as each language examination has a listening component which will be provided on a compact disc (CD).

A CD player/s must be provided by the school hosting the examination.  This equipment must be of a suitable quality and positioned to enable all students to hear the examination clearly.

 Student Identification

All students attending their examinations must be identified as they enter the examination room. This includes students from another school attending your centre.
