Years Prep to 10
The VCAA is responsible for providing curriculum standards for primary and
secondary school students from Years Prep to 10 and for administering the
Achievement Improvement Monitor (AIM) program to Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 students
across Victoria.
Curriculum and Standards Framework (CSF)
The CSF is the basis for schools to make decisions about the
structure and major content of courses and what students should learn (the
curriculum) and clear statements of what students are expected to achieve (the
standards).
Victorian Essential Learning Standards
(VELS)
This section provides an overview of the new approach to
Victorian curriculum from Prep to Year 10. The new Standards replaces the CSF
as the basis for curriculum and assessment in Victorian schools.
Achievement Improvement Monitor (AIM)
Years
3, 5, 7and 9 students across Victoria undertake literacy and numeracy testing.
The results provide a valuable source of information that is used to plan new
programs for students to ensure they continue to develop these important
skills. At the same time, this information is a useful source of feedback and
guidance for students, parents and teachers.
VCAA Bulletin P-10
The VCAA
Bulletin P-10 is distributed as part of the VCAA
Bulletin and its aim is to keep schools informed of important Prep to
Year 10 issues.
