Permitted Use, Copyright Requirements and Acknowledgements for NAPLAN Test Papers

Permission has been granted for post-examination use of NAPLAN Tests for non-commercial educational purposes by the Australian Government (Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations - DEEWR), Curriculum Corporation, State and Territory Education Departments, and other Australian education bodies such as non-government schools.

Conditions of use of Test Content Materials

NAPLAN Test Content Materials:

  • can be used, reproduced, published and communicated for non-commercial educational purposes only;
  • can be published in printed format;
  • can be published in digital formats that can be delivered, for example, on disks and included on Education Departments websites and intranets for a period of five years (until November 2013);
  • must display acknowledgements where required (see Table 1 below);
  • must be credited in accordance with the acknowledgement as shown in this document; and
  • may be modified, e.g. where an excerpt is abridged to highlight a specific element
