As part of the ongoing monitoring of VCE studies, the VCAA is collecting qualitative data about VCE Drama and VCE Theatre Studies. A stakeholder survey is being conducted to obtain feedback from users of the study designs. This information will assist VCAA in determining future directions for the studies. The surveys are located on the index pages for VCE Drama and VCE Theatre Studies on the VCAA website. The surveys can be completed electronically for return by email to: <champion.helen.h@edumail.vic.gov.au> or completed manually and returned by post to Helen Champion, Curriculum Manager – Performing Arts, VCAA, 41 St Andrews Place, East Melbourne, 3002 or by fax to (03) 9651 4324. Completed surveys should be returned by 10 September 2010.

The VCE Music Study Design (accredited 2011–2015) replaces the previous VCE Music Study Design (2006–2010). The study has been substantially restructured. A revised VCE Music study will be implemented from 2011. The revised study is comprised of ten units: Music Performance Units 1 to 4, Music Investigation Units 3 and 4 and Music Style and Composition Units 1 to 4.
Information about implementation of the revised VCE Music study and a range of resources to support implementation of learning and teaching programs will be published progressively on the VCAA website. Implementation workshops will be held across the state during Term 3.
Students may enrol in all units of VCE Music or select specific combinations of units that cater for their interests and intended pathways. For Music Performance Units 3 and 4 and Music Investigation Units 3 and 4 students select to perform as a member of a group or as a soloist for the end-of-year performance examination. Students may select the same performance context for both Unit 3 and 4 sequences or may select both contexts in either order.
