The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority cordially invite members of your school’s VCE team to attend a FREE professional development session on analysing your school’s 2009 VCE results. These sessions will cover both the VCE Data Service (VCEDS) and VCE Examination Results Service (VCEERS).
These services provide each school with valuable information on the performance of their VCE students. This information can be used to:
These sessions will be conducted as a hands-on experience. Each participant will have the opportunity to analyse their own school’s VCE results during the sessions. The sessions are designed to be informative and practical for new users as well as for experienced users of VCEDS and VCEERS. It will cover how to use the VCEDS and VCEERS, and strategies for getting the best out of VCEDS and VCEERS in 2010.
NOTE: Prior to attending these sessions please ensure you have already have access to your schools VASS database in particular menus SCHOOL ADMIN >> School Statistics and SCHOOL ADMIN >> VCE Data Services.
If you do not already have access to VASS please refer to your VASS Administrator to be given access in the School Statistics and Results (SSRG) user group.
You will need to bring your USB memory device and VASS login details to the session to enable you to access VASS.
Each session goes for two and a half hours, with light refreshments provided. NOTE: There will be no provision for reimbursement of travel and accommodation expenses or for the funding of staff replacement.
To gain additional benefit from these sessions, it is suggested to send two staff members to a session, where possible. Participants find it beneficial to be able to discuss the findings of their analysis with fellow staff members during the sessions.
Below are the dates, times and venues for the sessions. Please note that due to the number of PCs there are a limited number of places per sessions. Due to availability of training venues training sessions in Bendigo, Ballarat and Horsham will be held in February.
The VCAA will use the Trumba Event Registration System for intended participants to register on-line.
As places are limited, participants are advised register as soon as possible to the preferred session. Enclosed is an instruction sheet on how to register for ONE of the Professional Development sessions.

The closing date to register qfor a session will be three days prior to when the session is held.
