121 Victorian schools are currently participating in trialling the forthcoming Australian Curriculum, over terms 1 and 2, 2012. The trial involves the participating schools nominating subject areas and/or levels from the new Australian Curriculum (AC) for English, Mathematics, Science and History, with schools on single units of work to term or semester length curriculum plans.
The trial will provide student work samples, annotated to indicate assessment against the new AC achievement standards and identify what new resources are required to assist schools in implementing the Australian Curriculum in Victorian next year.
The trial program is managed by the VCAA in partnership with DEECD, CECV and Independent Schools Victoria. Participating trial schools are being supported through regionally-based meetings, on-line professional learning opportunities, a dedicated Ning and network programs.
A copy of the final report will be made available on the VCAA website later in the year.
