School-assessed Coursework involving fieldwork or outdoor activities

The VCAA is aware that bushfires may have an impact on students and teachers in the implementation of School-assessed Coursework involving fieldwork and outdoor activities in the following VCE studies:

  • Agricultural and Horticultural Studies
  • Environmental Science
  • Geography
  • Outdoor Environmental Studies.

Advice is provided on the study specific advice page for teachers to make alternative arrangements for School-assessed Coursework in which fieldwork or outdoor activities are required.

Where teachers are unable to make alternative arrangements and consequently cannot meet the July 27 VASS entry date for SIAR 2, an application can be made to the VCAA using the ‘VASS Critical Dates – Extension of Time’ form found on page 210 of the VCE and VCAL Administrative Handbook 2009. It is expected that applications from schools affected by bushfires will be approved. For further information, contact: Student Records and Results on (03) 9651 4376.
