VCAL Unit Reviews
The VCAA completed a review of VCAL in 2004. To ensure that the content of the VCAL units is relevant and meeting the needs of the student cohort, the review recommended that the VCAL units be reviewed over a five year cycle.
Personal Development Skills
The Personal Development Skills (PDS) units were reviewed in 2005. The VCAA has distributed the revised PDS units to all VCAL providers.
Work Related Skills
The Work Related Skills (WRS) units were reviewed in 2007. The VCAA has distributed the revised WRS units to all VCAL providers.
Literacy and Numeracy Skills
The VCAA completed a review of the VCAL Literacy and Numeracy Skills Strand in 2008. New Curriculum Planning Guides: Literacy and Numeracy Skills Strand, Literacy Skills Units and Numeracy Skills Units have been developed for implementation in 2009.
