National Heritage Languages Courses Survey

The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) has collaborated with the Office of the Board of Studies, NSW and the South Australian Certificate of Education Board (SACE Board of South Australia) to develop courses in Chinese (Mandarin), Indonesian, Japanese and Korean for Heritage Speakers at the Senior Secondary Level

The VCAA is participating in a national survey to seek feedback on the consultation drafts of language-specific senior secondary Heritage Language Courses in Chinese, Indonesian, Japanese and Korean. The data collected from the Heritage Language Courses National and Victorian Consultation Survey will inform the future directions of the development of the Heritage Language Courses. The language-specific course materials and survey can be accessed on the links below and will be available from 19 October until 30 November 2009.

Any queries about the project or survey should be directed to Anne Fisher, Project Manager, Languages on (03) 9651 4441 or at fisher.anne.m@edumail.vic.gov.au

The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority publishes administrative advice and regulations for the VCE in the VCE and VCAL Administrative Handbook 2009. Changes to advice and regulations occur during the year. The details of all such changes are published in the VCAA Bulletin and VCAA Bulletin P–10 on a regular basis. It is essential that VCE teachers familiarise themselves with advice and regulations in the VCE and VCAL Administrative Handbook and regularly check the VCAA Bulletin.
