Music Solo performanceApplication for Alternative Instrument and/ or WorksStudents who wish to select an alternative instrument and/or perform works other than those in the prescribed list of notated solo works should submit a proposal to the VCAA using the Alternative Works application form.
Music Solo PerformanceThe VCE Music Solo Performance Study Design states that students must select works for performance in Units 3 and 4 Outcome 1 and the end of year performance recital examination from the prescribed list of Notated Solo Works published by the VCAA on its website. Notification re approval/non approval of alternative work applications will be sent to the Principal of the home school of the applicant early in Term 2. Information pertaining to particular instruments, (categories/accompaniments/ prescribed number of works) is provided in the introduction to each instrument list in the VCE Music Solo performance Units 3-4 Prescribed list of notated solo works. Study Design RequirementsStudents will present a program of approved solo works on an approved solo instrument in a live performance. The program will include at least four works (five for contemporary piano and percussion; six for contemporary double bass, drumkit, electric bass, voice classical and voice - contemporary popular).
Application DatesThe completed Application for Alternative Instruments and/or Alternative Works Form must be submitted to the VCAA before the due date in the year the student is completing Units 3 and 4 of Music Solo performance. The closing date for submission of application forms for 2008 is Friday 7th March. Proposals for alternative instruments and/or works must be made annually. Acceptance of a particular work in one year does not ensure automatic acceptance of that work for future years. |
