Sample programs are provided as advice only at the conclusion of the list for each instrument. If students elect to perform one of these programs, the works need not be performed in the order listed.

Prior to undertaking the Solo performance recital examination, the student should receive a Performance Program Sheet from the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority. The works selected for performance should be written on the form in performance order.

The order of works in the program is determined by the student and teacher. Where a work in the program is not listed in the Prescribed list of notated solo works then the letter sent by the VCAA approving that work as an ‘Alternative Work’ should be attached to the form.

The Performance Program Sheet should be handed to assessors at the beginning of the performance examination. When determining the order in which they will perform the works on their program, students should take care to time the program carefully so that are confident that they will comply with all requirements regarding performance of works from specific categories within the time limit of the examination.
