Qualifications

Enrolment status: new enrolments from 2012

The following qualifications are available in the VCE VET Agriculture, Horticulture and Conservation and Land Management program:

  • AHC20110 Certificate II in Agriculture
  • AHC20410 Certificate II in Horticulture
  • AHC21010 Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management

Enrolment status: continuing enrolments in 2012 only

The following qualifications are available as VCE VET programs:

  • RTF20103 Certificate II in Horticulture
  • RTF20203 Certificate II in Horticulture (Aboriculture)
  • RTF20303 Certificate II in Horticulture (Floriculture)
  • RTF20403 Certificate II in Horticulture (Landscape)
  • RTF20503 Certificate II in Horticulture (Retail Nursery)
  • RTF20603 Certificate II in Horticulture (Wholesale Nursery)
  • RTF20703 Certificate II in Horticulture (Parks and Gardens)
  • RTF20803 Certificate II in Horticulture (Turf)

The following qualifications are available as a School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship program:

  • RTF20103 Certificate II in Horticulture
  • RTF20203 Certificate II in Horticulture (Aboriculture)
  • RTF20303 Certificate II in Horticulture (Floriculture)
  • RTF20403 Certificate II in Horticulture (Landscape)
  • RTF20503 Certificate II in Horticulture (Retail Nursery)
  • RTF20603 Certificate II in Horticulture (Wholesale Nursery)
  • RTF20703 Certificate II in Horticulture (Parks and Gardens)
  • RTF20803 Certificate II in Horticulture (Turf)

Note: To achieve a Units 3 and 4 sequence for satisfactory completion purposes, a student must complete a minimum of 380 hours of training.

Credit in the VCE

In 2012, students who complete any of the Certificate II in Horticulture qualifications will be eligible for up to five units credit towards their VCE: up to three units at Units 1 and 2, and a Units 3 and 4 sequence.

ATAR Contribution

In 2012, students who receive a Units 3 and 4 sequence for any of the Certificate II in Horticulture qualifications, either through the VCE VET or School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships program, will be eligible for a 10% increment towards their ATAR (10% of the average of the primary four scaled studies).

The VCE VET Horticulture program does not offer scored assessment.
