The following qualification is available as a VCE VET program:

THH21802 Certificate II in Hospitality (Operations) with selected units of competence leading to Certificate III in Hospitality

The following qualification is available as a School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship program:

THH21802 Certificate II in Hospitality (Operations)

Note: The Units 3 and 4 sequence of VCE VET Hospitality is not designed as a stand-alone study. Students cannot undertake the Units 3 and 4 sequence without first completing the five core units of competence which comprise Unit 1.

Credit in the VCE

Students who complete only the Certificate II in Hospitality (Operations) qualification will be eligible for two units credit at Units 1 and 2 towards their VCE.

Students who complete the Certificate II in Hospitality (Operations) with additional units of competence leading to Certificate III in Hospitality will be eligible for four units credit towards their VCE: two units at Units 1 and 2 and a Units 3 and 4 sequence.

ENTER Contribution

Students wishing to receive an ENTER contribution for the Units 3 and 4 sequence VCE VET Hospitality (Operations) must undertake scored assessment for the purpose of achieving a study score. This study score can contribute directly to the primary four or as a fifth or sixth study.

Students who receive a Units 3 and 4 sequence for a School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship program in Hospitality may choose to undertake scored assessment or may choose to opt-out and receive a a 10% increment towards their ENTER (10% of the average of the primary four scaled studies).

Scored Assessment

Students wishing to receive a study score for VCE VET Hospitality (Operations) must undertake Scored Assessment. This consists of three coursework tasks, worth 66% of the overall study score and an end of year examination, worth 34% of the overall study score.

Scored Assessment in 2007 is based on the Units 3 and 4 sequence of VCE VET Hospitality (Operations).
