Music Industry
Qualifications
Enrolment status: current
The following qualifications are available as VCE VET programs:
- CUS20101 Certificate II in Music Industry (Foundation)
- CUS30101 Certificate III in Music
- CUS30201 Certificate III in Music Industry (Technical Production)
Note: The Units 3 and 4 sequences of VCE VET Music Industry are not designed as stand-alone studies. Students are strongly advised against undertaking the Units 3 and 4 sequence without first completing Units 1 and 2.
Program redevelopment: Due to delays in the training package review process, the redevelopment of the VCE VET program for Music will not take place in 2009. Therefore, there will be no change to this VCE VET program in 2010.
Credit in the VCE
Students who complete Certificate II in Music Industry (Foundation) will be eligible for four units credit at Units 1 and 2 towards their VCE.
Students who complete Certificate III in Music will be eligible for up to five units credit towards their VCE: up to three at Units 1 and 2, and a Units 3 and 4 sequence.
Students who complete Certificate III in Music Industry (Technical Production) will be eligible for up to five units credit towards their VCE: up to three at Units 1 and 2, and a Units 3 and 4 sequence.
ENTER Contribution
Students wishing to receive an ENTER contribution for either Units 3 and 4 sequence from VCE VET Music Industry must undertake scored assessment for the purpose of achieving a study score. This study score can contribute directly to the primary four or as a fifth or sixth study.
Scored Assessment
Students wishing to receive a study score for VCE VET Music Industry must undertake scored assessment. This consists of three coursework tasks, worth 66% of the overall study score and an end of year examination, worth 34% of the overall study score.
Scored assessment is based on the Units 3 and 4 sequences of Certificate III in Music and Certificate III in Music Industry (Technical Production).
