BUSINESS (for continuing students)

The following qualifications from the BSB01 Business Services Training Package are available as School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships:

• BSB20101 Certificate II in Business (Option 1)
• BSB20101 Certificate II in Business with selected units of competence from BSB30201 Certificate III in Business Administration (Option 2)

 

Credit in the VCE

1. Option 1: Students who complete only the Certificate II in Business qualification will be eligible for up to three units credit at Units 1 and 2 towards their VCE.
2. Option 2: Students who complete the Certificate II in Business with additional units of competence from Certificate III in Business Administration will be eligible for four units credit towards their VCE: two units at Units 1 and 2, and a Units 3 and 4 sequence on completion of 180 hours of Certificate III training.

 

Study Score

Students undertaking Option 2 may choose to undertake scored assessment for the purposes of gaining a Study Score. This consists of three coursework tasks, worth 66% of the overall study score and an end of year examination, worth 34% of the overall study score.

Student wishing to receive a study score have to be enrolled in the designated VCE VET Units 3 and 4 sequence, as prescribed in the VCE VET Business Administration program booklet (published in August 2002) in a single enrolment year and comply with the rules applying to scored assessment.

 

ENTER Contribution

Students who receive a Units 3 and 4 sequence for a School Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship in Business Administration may choose to undertake scored assessment or may choose to opt-out and receive a 10% increment towards their ENTER (10% of the average of the primary four scaled studies).

BUSINESS (for students commencing in 2009)

The following qualifications from the BSB07 Business Services Training Package are available as School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships:

• BSB20107 Certificate II in Business (Option 1)
• BSB20107 Certificate II in Business with selected units of competence from BSB30207 Certificate III in Business Administration (Option 2)

 

Credit in the VCE

There are two options for contribution to satisfactory completion of the VCE:

1. Option 1: the Certificate II in Business will contribute up to four VCE VET units credit at Units 1 and 2 level
2. Option 2: the Certificate II in Business with additional Certificate III units of competence from the BSB07 Business Services Training Package provides up to three VCE VET units credit at Units 1 and 2 level and a Units 3 and 4 sequence. Students must complete a minimum of 180 hours of Certificate III level training to be awarded credit at Units 3 and 4 level.

Students can accumulate VCE VET units over more than one year.

Apprentices who do not achieve the minimum requirements for the qualification, as listed in the Training Package, will receive from the RTO a Statement of Attainment listing those competencies achieved. A record of their achievement will also appear in their Training Record Book.
