The following qualification is available as a VCE VET program:
- CHC20202 Certificate II in Community Services Work
The following qualifications are available as a School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship program:
- CHC20202 Certificate II in Community Services Work
- CHC20102 Certificate II in Community Services Support Work
- HLT20702 Certificate II in Health Support Services (Client/Patient Support Services)
Note: The Units 3 and 4 sequence of VCE VET Community Services is not designed as a stand-alone study. Students are strongly advised against undertaking the Units 3 and 4 sequence without first completing Units 1 and 2.
Credit in the VCE
Students who complete the CHC20202 Certificate II in Community Services Work and selected units of competence from CHC30802 Certificate III in Community Services Work and CHC30402 Certificate III in Children’s Services will be eligible for up to five units credit towards their VCE: up to three units at Units 1 and 2 and a Units 3 and 4 sequence.
Students undertaking a School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship program in any of the three qualifications available, credit will be dependant upon the amount of training undertaken. For further details see the October 2004 VCAA Bulletin (page 10).
ENTER Contribution
Students wishing to receive an ENTER contribution for the Units 3 and 4 sequence of VCE VET Community Services must undertake scored assessment for the purpose of achieving a study score. This study score can contribute directly to the primary four or as a fifth or sixth study.
Students who receive a Units 3 and 4 sequence for a School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship program in Community Services may choose to undertake scored assessment or may choose to opt-out and receive a 10% increment towards their ENTER (10% of the average of the primary four scaled studies).
Scored Assessment
Students wishing to receive a study score for VCE VET Community Services must undertake scored assessment. This consists of three coursework tasks, worth 66% of the overall study score and an end of year examination, worth 34% of the overall study score.
