Engineering - School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships
The following qualifications from the MEM05 Metals and Engineering Training Package are available as School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships:
- MEM20105 Certificate II in Engineering
- MEM20205 Certificate II in Engineering - Production Technology
Credit in the VCE
Students who complete a School Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship in
- MEM20105 Certificate II in Engineering are eligible for four units credit towards their VCE: two units at Units 1 and 2 and a Units 3 and 4 sequence.
- MEM20205 Certificate II in Engineering - Production Technology are eligible for six units credit toward their VCE: four units at Units 1 and 2 and a Units 3 and 4 sequence.
Students can accumulate VCE VET units over more than one year.
Apprentices who do not achieve the minimum requirements for the qualification, as listed in the Training Package, will receive from the RTO a Statement of Attainment listing those competencies achieved. A record of their achievement will also appear in their Training Record Book.

ENTER Contribution
Students who receive a Units 3 and 4 sequence for a School Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship in Engineering Studies will be eligible for a 10% increment towards their ENTER (10% of the average of the primary four scaled studies).
