Engineering StudiesQualificationsEnrolment status: current The following curriculum qualifications are available as a VCE VET program:
Pre-apprenticeships A pre-apprenticeship is a nationally recognised qualification that has an automatic training and duration credit into the apprenticeship in the same industry area. A pre-apprenticeship training program prepares the student for entry into a trade based apprenticeship by equipping the student with foundation knowledge and skills. Formal pre-apprenticeship arrangements have been approved by Skills Victoria (formerly OTTE) for 21566VIC Certificate II in Engineering Studies. The following qualifications are available as a School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship program:

Credit in the VCEStudents who complete either the 21566VIC Certificate II in Engineering Studies or the 21565VIC Certificate III in Engineering Studies are eligible for four units credit towards their VCE: two units at Units 1 and 2 and a Units 3 and 4 sequence. Students cannot receive credit for both programs. Students who complete a School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship program in the MEM20105 Certificate II in Engineering or MEM20205 Certificate II in Production Technology qualification are eligible for four units credit towards their VCE: two units at Units 1 and 2 and a Units 3 and 4 sequence.
ENTER ContributionStudents wishing to receive an ENTER contribution for either Units 3 and 4 sequence of VCE VET Engineering Studies must undertake scored assessment for the purpose of achieving a study score. This study score can contribute directly to the primary four or as a fifth or sixth study. Students who receive a Units 3 and 4 sequence for the School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship program in Engineering Studies will be eligible for a 10% increment towards their ENTER (10% of the average of the primary four scaled studies).
Scored AssessmentStudents wishing to receive a study score for either 21566VIC Certificate II in Engineering Studies or 21565VIC Certificate III in Engineering Studies must undertake scored assessment. This consists of three coursework tasks worth 66% of the overall study score and an end of year examination worth 34% of the overall study score. Note: Materials relating to scored assessment can be found under publications.
