Qualifications

Enrolment status: for students commencing from 2012

The following qualifications are available as VCE VET programs:

  • Program 1: HLT21207 Certificate II in Health Support Services
    • Certificate II in Health Support Services provides students with the knowledge and skills to enhance their employment prospects in the Health industry. This is an entry level qualification which covers workers who provide support for the effective functioning of health services.
  • Program 2: HLT32407 Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance
    • Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance provides students with the knowledge and skills that will enhance their employment prospects in the Health industry. This qualification covers workers who provide assistance to allied health professionals.
  • Program 3: HLT32507 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance
    • Certificate III in Health Services Assistance provides students with the knowledge and skills that will enhance their employment prospects in the Health industry. This qualification covers workers in a range of work roles who provide assistance to health professional staff with the care of clients.

Credit in the VCE

  • Program 1: HLT21207 Certificate II in Health Support Services: recognition of up to three units at Units 1 and 2 level.
  • Program 2: HLT32407 Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance: recognition of up to two Units 3 and 4 sequences.
  • Program 3: HLT32507 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance: recognition of up to two Units 3 and 4 sequences.

ATAR Contribution

Students who receive a Units 3 and 4 sequence for Program 2 or Program 3 of VCE VET Health will be eligible for an increment towards their ATAR (10% of the average of the primary four scaled studies). Further information on the ATAR can be found on the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) website: www.vtac.edu.au

The VCE VET Health program does not offer scored assessment.

Program updates and further information

  • Continuous improvement - During the life of the HLT07 Health Training Package there may be occasions when changes are made to reflect feedback from users or to include the latest industry practices. This process is called Continuous Improvement. When Continuous Improvement impacts on the VCE VET Health program, advice will be published in the VCAA Bulletin VCE, VCAL and VET and links to these updates will be published on the VCE VET Health page on the VCAA website.

New programs are approved from time to time and are announced in the VCAA Bulletin VCE, VCAL and VET . The details for each of these programs are published by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority.
