Horticulture - School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships

The following qualifications from the RTF03 Amenity Horticulture Training Package are available as School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships:

• RTF20103 Certificate II in Horticulture
• RTF20203 Certificate II in Horticulture (Aboriculture)
• RTF20303 Certificate II in Horticulture (Floriculture)
• RTF20403 Certificate II in Horticulture (Landscape)
• RTF20503 Certificate II in Horticulture (Retail Nursery)
• RTF20603 Certificate II in Horticulture (Wholesale Nursery)
• RTF20703 Certificate II in Horticulture (Parks and Gardens)
• RTF20803 Certificate II in Horticulture (Turf)

 

Credit in the VCE

Students who complete any of the eight RTF03 Certificate II in Horticulture qualifications will be eligible for up to five units credit towards their VCE: up to three units at Units 1 and 2, and a Units 3 and 4 sequence.

Credit is granted through accrual of hours of completed training. To achieve a Units 3 and 4 sequence a student must complete a minimum of 360 hours of training.

Apprentices who do not achieve the minimum requirements for the qualification, as listed in the Training Package, will receive from the RTO a Statement of Attainment listing those competencies achieved. A record of their achievement will also appear in their Training Record Book.

ENTER Contribution

Students who receive a Units 3 and 4 sequence for any of the eight RTF03 Certificate II in Horticulture qualifications, through a School Based Apprenticeship or Traineeship, will be eligible for a 10% increment towards their ENTER (10% of the average of the primary four scaled studies).
