The following qualifications are available as School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship programs:
Note: Schools are advised that VCE VET programs not designed as stand-alone studies. Students are strongly advised against undertaking the Units 3 and 4 sequence without first completing Units 1 and 2.
Credit in the VCEStudents who complete the ICA20105 Certificate II in Information Technology (Program 1) will be eligible for up to three VCE VET units at Units 1 and 2 towards satisfactory completion of their VCE. Students who undertake partial completion of ICA30105 Certificate III in Information Technology (Program 2) will be eligible for up to four units credit towards satisfactory completion of their VCE: two units at Units 1 and 2, and a Units 3 and 4 sequence. Students who are able to undertake further training to complete the Certificate III qualification may be eligible for further credit at the Units 3 and 4 level. Students who undertake a School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship program in ICA20105 will receive up to three units credit towards their VCE at Units 1 and 2 level. Students who complete a School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship program in ICA30105 Certificate III in Information Technology will receive two Units 3 and 4 sequences once a minimum of 360 hours of training has been completed.
ENTER ContributionStudents wishing to receive an ENTER contribution for the Units 3 and 4 sequence of VCE VET Information Technology must undertake scored assessment for the purpose of achieving a study score. This study score can contribute directly to the primary four or as a fifth or sixth study. Students who receive a Units 3 and 4 sequence within a School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship program in Information Technology may choose to undertake scored assessment or may choose to receive a a 10% increment towards their ENTER (10% of the average of the primary four scaled studies).
Scored AssessmentStudents wishing to receive a study score for VCE VET Information Technology must undertake scored assessment. This consists of three coursework tasks, worth 66% of the overall study score and an end of year examination, worth 34% of the overall study score. Scored assessment in 2008 is based on the Units 3 and 4 sequence of Program 2, partial completion of ICA30105 Certificate III in Information Technology.
