Qualifications
Enrolment status: current
The following qualifications are available as a VCE VET program:
- SRC20206 Certificate II in Community Recreation with selected units of competence from Certificate III
- SRO20206 Certificate II in Outdoor Recreation with selected units of competence from Certificate III
The following qualifications are available as a School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship program:
- SRC20206 Certificate II in Community Recreation
- SRO20106 Certificate II in Sport and Recreation
- SRO20206 Certificate II in Outdoor Recreation
- SRO20306 Certificate II in Outdoor Recreation (Multiple Activities)
- SRS20206 Certificate II in Sport (Career Oriented Participation)
- SRS20306 Certificate II in Sport (Coaching)
- SRS20406 Certificate II in Sport (Officiating)
Note: all qualifications in the SRC04 Community Recreation, SRF04 Fitness, SRO03 Outdoor Recreation and SRS03 Sport Training Packages have been replaced with qualification codes that end in 06. These are now the only qualifications available for students to be enrolled in.
Credit in the VCE
Students who undertake a qualification from the VCE VET Sport & Recreation program will be eligible for up to five units credit towards their VCE: up to three units at Units 1 and 2, and a Units 3 and 4 sequence.
Students who undertake a School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship program will receive credit at Units 1 and 2 only for completion of a Certificate II qualification. Students wishing to receive credit at Units 3 and 4 will need to undertake training at Certificate III level. For further information please contact the VET Unit on (03) 9651 4458.
ENTER Contribution
Students wishing to receive a ENTER contribution for the Units 3 and 4 sequence must undertake scored assessment for the purposes of gaining a study score. This study score can contribute directly to the primary four or as a fifth or sixth study.
School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship students wishing to receive a study score will need to undertake the Units 3 and 4 sequence from the VCE VET program with scored assessment. School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship students wishing to receive a 10% increment towards their ENTER (10% of the average of the primary four scaled studies) will need to undertake further training at Certificate III level - please contact the VET Unit for further information - (03) 9651 4458.
Scored Assessment
Students wishing to receive a study score for VCE VET Sport and Recreation must undertake scored assessment. This consists of three coursework tasks, worth 66% of the overall study score and an end of year examination, worth 34% of the overall study score.
