Special Provision Review − 2017 focus

Principals/Directors, VCE Coordinators and VCAL Coordinators

Main Points

In 2017 the VCAA will continue to review its Special Provision policy and procedures with particular focus on the categories of Specific Learning Disorder and Significant Health Impairment (with specific consideration to mental health conditions).

The VCAA will consult specialist experts, stakeholder organisations and experienced school-based staff.

It is intended that the revised Special Provision policy and procedures for the categories under review will be finalised and published prior to the commencement of the 2018 academic year.

Action Required

Principals/Directors should:

  • ensure VCE and VCAL coordinators and relevant school personnel are made aware of the review focus for 2017.
