Top Designs Forums and Talks 2017

Principals/Directors, VCE Coordinators and Teachers of VCE Food Studies, Media, Product Design and Technology, Systems Engineering, Visual Communication Design and VET Interactive Digital Media and Theatre Studies

Main Points

Top Designs Forums and Talks support students of VCE Food Studies, Media, Product Design and Technology, Systems Engineering, Theatre Studies − Design, Visual Communication Design and VET Interactive Digital Media.

Each forum consists of an introductory talk about the School-Assessed Tasks by a VCAA representative, using examples from Top Designs exhibited works, folios and design plans.

After this, an industry professional, who represents best practice in their particular field of design, gives a presentation. In some instances, there will also be a previous or current Top Designs exhibitor speaking. A Q&A session follows the presentations. Students are encouraged to prepare questions for the speakers.

For Food Studies only, there will be a combined half-hour talk with the VCAA representative and industry speaker as well as a 20-minute presentation and tour of the Milarri Gardens in Bunjilaka. Students will hear how the First Peoples of Victoria live sustainably on the land, drawing on deep knowledge of the flora and fauna of their country.

Students then visit the Top Designs exhibition.

Booking is recommended as sessions are selling fast. For further information please visit Melbourne Museum website .
