Top Screen 2017

Main Points

The VCAA invites students, teachers and families to attend Top Screen 2017 at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI), Federation Square.

Screenings include fascinating short films including narratives, music clips and animation, created by VCE Media students from 2016.

Tickets are still available for the opening screening on Thursday 9 March 2017 at 6.30pm (approx. 150 minutes). This screening will be followed by a lively panel discussion with a selection of the filmmakers. The discussion will be chaired by Brett Lamb, VCE Media State Reviewer.

Top Screen 2017 and the accompanying education programs will be open to teachers, students and families until Friday 19 May 2017.

Tickets for screenings, plus folio/PDP viewing are $11.50 (regional concession $9.50). For screenings that include an education program, tickets are $13.50 (regional concession $11.50). Tickets can be booked via the ACMI website, or by phone (03) 8663 2583.

Booking is recommended as tickets are selling fast and door sales will be subject to availability.

  • ensure all teachers of VCE Media teachers and their students are notified of this event.

Critical Dates

Thursday 9 March – Opening Night Screening at 6.30pm, followed by Meet the Filmmakers: Panel discussion with a selection of filmmakers

Friday 19 May – Final Screening + Beyond Top Screen at 10am, Industry professionals speak about working in the film industry, as well as catch up with a past Top Screener

Teachers accompanying booked groups of 10 students or more can attend free of charge (maximum of two teachers per group). ​
