VCE Classical Studies 2018 Classical Works list Advisory Panels Applications

Principals/Directors and Teachers of Classical Studies

Main Points

Applications are sought from suitably qualified people for membership of the Classical Works list Advisory Panels for the 2018 Classical Works lists. Applications can be lodged through the VCAA Sessional Staff Management System. The closing date is Monday 24 April.

VCE Classical Works list advisory panels advise the VCAA on appropriate classical works for inclusion in prescribed lists. Advisory panels typically consist of between seven and 10 members and will meet on two occasions during the year. Panel meetings will be held within the vicinity of the VCAA office at 2 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne.

Panel members will be appointed from schools, universities and training institutions, and other sectors where appropriate. Panel members are appointed according to their expertise, experience and capacity to contribute to the text selection process.

Members of the Classical Works list advisory panels must ensure that they are familiar with the details of the relevant accredited Classical Studies study design and, in particular, with the role of classical works within them.

Applicants should also make themselves aware of the Principles, guidelines and procedures for prescribed VCE text lists (pdf - 189.78kb) .
