Notice to Schools 55/2017 − 31 May 2017
2017 General Achievement Test (GAT) observation visits
Principals/Directors, VCE Coordinators and Examination Centre Coordinators
Principals and other appropriate school personnel are reminded that VCAA-appointed senior project officers may attend their school to monitor the conduct and administration of the GAT. The purpose of these visits is to ensure that schools are complying with all VCAA requirements for the administration of the GAT.
Senior project officers will observe procedures before, during and after the GAT and complete a report on their visit.
Principals will be provided with a letter and may be asked to respond formally should there be any issues that the VCAA believes need to be addressed.
Senior project officers will not engage in discussion on the observation at the conclusion of the GAT.
The senior project officer's role is not to assist with the conduct of the GAT nor should they be expected to fulfil the role of an additional supervisor or VCAA adviser. Any concern with these arrangements should be directed to the Project Manager, Examination Planning and Logistics on (03) 9225 2237 or firstname.lastname@example.org
- ensure that relevant school personnel and chief supervisors are made aware of the possibility that a VCAA-appointed senior project officer could be attending their school to observe the conduct and administration of the GAT.
Wednesday 14 June 2017 - General Achievement Test (GAT) is held
