Invitation to the 2017 Plain English Speaking Award State Final

Principals/Directors, Year 7−10 and VCE English Teachers, VCAL Literacy Teachers, Public Speaking and Debating Coordinators

Main Points

All students and teachers are invited to attend the 2017 State Final of the  Plain English Speaking Award (PESA), presented by the VCAA.

Six inspiring Victorian students will speak on a range of current issues.

This free event will provide current and future students with the opportunity to hear and learn from their peers with outstanding skills in public speaking, speech writing and research.

PESA supports student learning and assessment in VCE English/EAL, VCAL Literacy (Oral Communication), VCAL Personal Development Skills and in the Victorian Curriculum F−10. Further information regarding the benefits and specific learning outcomes is available on our website.

Date: Wednesday 26 July 2017

Time: 9.00am for 9.30am start (approximate finish 12.30pm)

Venue: Treasury Theatre, Ground Level, 1 Macarthur Street, East Melbourne 3002 (in the government precinct opposite Parliament station)
