2017 VCE Results and ATAR Service

A joint venture between the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) and the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC)

The VCAA and VTAC encourage all students to change their PIN to ensure security of their results.
Students should read these important instructions (docx - 79.42kb) on changing their results service PIN.
Students can change their PIN through the PIN management system which will be available in October.

The VCAA and VTAC offer three options for accessing VCE results and the ATAR: internet, mail, and app. The VCAA also offers a student email option for accessing VCE and VCAL results. Information about each of these options and the Post Results and ATAR Service (PRAS) is below.

A postcard was also sent to education providers for distribution to students from 1 November 2017.

VCE results and ATARs are available from the 2017 VCE Results and ATAR Service from 7.00am Friday 15 December.

Only 2017 results are recorded on this service.

You will need your VCAA student number and your results service PIN. Both the VCAA and VTAC encourage you to change your default PIN, which is the first four digits of your birthdate (for example, 17 July = 1707), to ensure you select a result service PIN that will enable the security of your result data.

If you have registered with VTAC, please note that your VTAC ID and PIN are separate from your results service PIN. Only your VCAA student number and results service PIN can be used to access the 2017 VCE Results and ATAR Service.



The internet service is free and available 24 hours a day from 7.00am Friday 15 December until 5.00pm Wednesday 20 December.

Students should be aware that scored VCE VET studies (such as VCE VET Business and VCE VET Hospitality) only have two graded assessments – one school-based and one exam.


VCE and VCAL results and ATAR statements will arrive in the mail from Monday 18 December. Printed ATAR statements are only mailed to VTAC applicants who have submitted and paid for a course application. Students who have not applied for courses can request an ATAR statement from the VTAC website. Administrative fees apply.

VCE and VCAL certificates are distributed by schools and colleges, rather than mailed with the results.

Mobile app

The mobile app (Version 1.0) is available now for download on the Apple App Store or Google Play. Search for ‘VCE Results and ATAR’.

Note:  students can install the app now but 2017 results and ATAR won’t be available until 7.00am Friday 15 December.

Student Email

To receive VCE or VCAL results via email on Friday 15 December students must provide an accurate email address to educational providers for them to record on VASS.

The Post Results and ATAR Service website is run in conjunction with the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) and contains up-to-date information about what your results mean for admission requirements to university courses.
