Notice to Schools 47 - 12 June 2025

2025 General Achievement Test: Travel Disruptions

Principals/Directors, VCE coordinators and Examination Centre coordinators

Schools running the General Achievement Test (GAT) on Tuesday 17 June should be aware of a planned industrial action affecting bus services run by CDC Victoria and Dysons.

Schools are advised to check the list of impacted routes and school services on the PTV website and where required, encourage students to make alternate arrangements.

Where students arrive late due to the planned industrial action, schools should permit students to receive the full amount of reading time and writing time for the GAT Section A and provide students required to sit Section B with a reasonable break of at least one hour between the end of GAT Section A and commencement of Section B. Schools should use their discretion to determine the length of the break for individual students.

The chief supervisor must submit a completed 2025 Incident report for VCE external assessments form for any student who arrives late as a result of this disruption.

If the revised start time for GAT Section B impacts on the collection of student response materials for your school by the secure courier, contact Examinations Planning and Logistics email: vcaa.exam.logistics@education.vic.gov.au
