Recruitment: 2027 NAPLAN writing markers 

Principals/Directors, School Leaders and teachers of years 3, 5, 7 and 9

The VCAA is seeking current and retired teachers with a strong literacy background to undertake the marking of NAPLAN 2027 writing tests from March to April 2027.

Markers will assess a range of writing from students in years 3, 5, 7 and 9 through a secure online platform. Using this online platform, marking can be completed flexibility from home.

Markers will receive several training sessions in the lead up to live marking and be paid an hourly rate for both training and marking.

Once training has been successfully completed, markers will be recognised  by the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) for professional practice. VIT registration is not required to be a NAPLAN marker.

Marking duration 
Marking will begin on Monday 15 March 2027 and take over a month to be completed. You will need to be available to mark from the start of the marking operation and mark continuously for a minimum of 3-4 hours on at least 5 days each week until the last day of marking.
