Consultation: CAS Calculator functionality in 2027 VCE Mathematics examinations

Principals/Directors, VCE Coordinators and teachers of VCE General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods, and Specialist Mathematics

The VCAA is currently seeking feedback on the functionality available on the use of Computer Algebra System (CAS) calculators in VCE Mathematics examinations from 2027.

One option the VCAA is exploring is the potential introduction of 'restricted mode' for approved CAS calculators in examinations. Restricted mode removes access to any additional functionality that can be uploaded to the calculator, including user-defined functions (UDFs).
