Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) Recognition for VET arrangements from 2026
Principals/Directors, VET Coordinators and VASS Administrators
From 2026, schools will be responsible for enrolling their students in SWL Recognition for VET units on VASS.
This gives VASS administrators full control of SWL Recognition for VET enrolment and results entry, consistent with the process for all other VCE studies.
It also enables schools to confirm students’ eligibility for these units in VASS before most 2026 SWL placements commence.
The Structured Workplace Learning Recognition report will be updated to assist with determining eligibility. A notice will be published on the VASS home page when it is made available.

Principals/Directors, should encourage VET Coordinators and VASS Administrators to:
- review Structured Workplace Learning Recognition for VET in 2026
- process SWL Recognition for VET Unit 1 and/or Unit 2 enrolments by Friday 26 June and where possible, before students commence their 2026 SWL placements
- confirm students’ eligibility for enrolment in the unit/s, using the Structured Workplace Learning Recognition report in VASS (once available)
Critical dates
Friday 26 June: VASS Administrators are encouraged to enter 2026 SWL Recognition for VET enrolments in VASS by this date.
