2026 General Achievement Test (GAT): Timetables and Special Examination Arrangements

Principals/Directors, VCE Coordinators and VASS Administrators

Student Assessment Timetables and Examination Centre Summary reports for the 2026 General Achievement Test (GAT) will be available on VASS from the week commencing Monday 11 May.

Special Examination Arrangements Advice Slips and Summary Reports will also be available on VASS from Monday 11 May.

before producing and distributing Student Assessment Timetables and Special Examination Arrangements Advice Slips.

Emergency Special Examination Arrangements

For students requiring Emergency Special Examination Arrangements due to sudden illness, accident or personal trauma that occurs immediately before or on the day of the 2026 GAT, schools must submit an Application for Emergency Special Examination Arrangements form, available on VASS (SYSTEM ADMIN > Downloads) from Monday 1 June. 

Action

Principals/Directors, please make sure:

  • 2026 GAT Student Assessment Timetables are produced and distributed to all students.
  • 2026 GAT Special Examination Arrangements advice slips are:
    • produced and distributed to students, chief supervisors and school personnel responsible for the conduct and administration of the GAT; and
    • discussed with and clearly understood by students, chief supervisors and school personnel and any approved supervisors, clarifiers, readers, scribes and interpreters     

Critical dates

  • Week commencing Monday 11 May: Student Assessment Timetables and Special Examination Arrangements advice slips available on VASS
  • Tuesday 16 June: General Achievement Test (GAT) held
