Release of the 2026 VCE examination timetable

Principals/Directors, VASS Administrators and VCE Coordinators

The 2026 VCE examination timetable is now available. 

The timetable has been developed using the 2026 VCE and scored VCE VET Unit 3-4 enrolments. The following priorities were considered in the development of the timetable:

• Minimise the number of students required to sit more than 2 examinations on any one day.
• Minimise the number of clashes where students have 2 examinations in the same session.
• Avoid scheduling another examination on the same day as English and English as an Additional Language (EAL).
• Accommodate the marking and processing requirements of VCE and VCE VET written examinations, providing enough time for students to receive their final results in December 2026.

Dates and times for 2026 VCE written examinations are now displayed in VASS.

Student examination/assessment timetables for the 2026 VCE and VCE VET written examination period are being finalised and will be available in VASS during the week beginning Monday 7 September 2026.

Critical dates

June-July:

• Tuesday 16 June: General Achievement Test
• Wednesday 29 July: Extended Investigation Critical Thinking Test

October-November:

• Monday 5 October to Sunday 1 November: Performance and Languages oral examinations and Extended Investigation oral presentations
• Thursday 15 October: Languages (CCAFL) written examinations and Auslan Sign Comprehension and Sign Production Examination
• Tuesday 27 October to Wednesday 18 November: Written examinations
