Principals/Directors, VCE, VCE VM and VPC Coordinators and student wellbeing staff

Schools can now register to receive a Recognition of Learning Statement template for eligible students exiting school without a senior secondary certificate at the end of 2026.

The Recognition of Learning Statement formally acknowledges students who have meaningfully engaged in learning throughout their education, including during their senior secondary years but for whom completion of the VCE (including the VCE Vocational Major) or Victorian Pathways Certificate is not achievable due to individual circumstances.

Eligibility for Recognition of Learning

The Recognition of Learning Statement is available to eligible students from all Victorian schools. Eligibility is determined at the school level using the professional judgement of the principal (or equivalent), in accordance with VCAA eligibility criteria.

Schools can now register to receive an editable Recognition of Learning Statement template to prepare personalised Statements for eligible students. To register, visit Recogniton of Learning Statement and fill out the form under the heading ‘Registration for schools’.

Critical dates

Friday 16 October: Registrations for the Recognition of Learning Statement template close.

Registered schools will receive their digital template in mid-Term 4, in time for graduation ceremonies and end-of-year celebrations.
